Internationally Recognized Physician-Scientist Dr. Peter Hotez to Speak at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research Symposium
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital will host its 11th Annual Research Symposium, Oct. 27-28. The event brings together national and international experts to share and discuss the latest clinical research and basic science findings on the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pediatric diseases and the determinants of health in children and young adults.
This year, internationally recognized physician scientist and vaccine expert Dr. Peter Hotez joins as keynote speaker on Oct. 28. Dr. Hotez serves as co-director of the Center for Vaccine Development at Texas Children’s Hospital and Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He will discuss his experience and expertise in bringing a novel, patent-free COVID-19 vaccine from the laboratory bench to global populations, and combatting misinformation on vaccination in order to improve public health.
Neil Goldenberg, M.D., Ph.D., associate dean for research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, noted that this year’s symposium will feature a greater number of submitted and accepted original research abstracts than ever before. He added, “This year’s symposium features a pediatric-focused general interest session as well as special interest sessions in COVID-19, health equity research, biomarker discovery, cancer biology & immuno-oncology, and data science & clinical trial innovation. We look forward to participation from clinicians and scientists from around the world.”
