City Of Lakeland issued the following announcement on Oct. 11.
Exciting news for local historic structures!
Historic preservation experts from Paleo West will be in the field this week to resurvey East and South Lake Morton historic districts. The experts will evaluate all structures built before 1973. They will look at the architectural features, materials, and the impact of any modifications.
The goal of the survey is to identify structures that are historically significant and contribute to the character of the historic district. Contributing structures must be at least 50 years old and have a distinct architectural style that is authentic to the era in which it was built.
